Network

Getting Started

If you have more than one computer in your home you should consider setting up a Network, even if it is only to share your broadband connection. With a network you can share your internet connection, files, messages, pictures and even video. If you have only two computers all you need is an additional network card and a crossover cable. However with the cost of wireless routers so low and the speeds so high I would definitely recommend wireless to anyone considering setting up a network. Wireless means no more drilling holes, nailing wires to the skirting board or being restricted to the house.

Network Operating Systems

There is usually no need for an Network Operating system but if you are interested in IT this can be great fun. You can pick up older Network Operating system for next to nothing and you can get the newest ones on a 180 day free trial. I stick to Microsoft because it is what I know and there is so much support you can always find plenty of information and help on any problems you may have.
